Amy Kingman is the Executive Director of Doris Buffett's Learning by Giving Foundation and Letters Foundation, both headquartered in Boston.
Amy has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, specifically in fundraising, marketing, nonprofit management, and strategic planning. She was the chief architect and collaborator of Letters to Doris, a book featuring the experiences of those who received grants from Doris Buffett's unique direct giving program. Amy first learned of the Learning by Giving Foundation when an organization she was working for received a grant from the first-ever Learning by Giving class at Simmons College. She was incredibly impressed by both the passion of the students and the class curriculum, and has followed the progress of the Foundation ever since.
In 2018, Amy was named one of Boston’s 40 Under 40 by the Boston Business Journal. She is the host of LearnGive TV and has been featured on numerous podcasts. Amy holds a BSW from Skidmore College and a MSW with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a founding member of the Women in Nonprofits group and currently serves on the board of trustees at Wellspring House, as an advisory council member to Media Girls, and as a volunteer philanthropic advisor to the Darwin Project.
She originally hails from Maine and now lives on the north shore of MA with her husband, their young daughter Grace, and their spunky dog, Scout.
