On May 22nd 2019, over 50 emerging leaders from the Greater Boston area participated in Learning by Giving’s Make Your Mark: An In-Depth Conversation on Impact with Boston Community Leaders event. The evening was an opportunity for young professionals to learn more about how to make an impact as a philanthropist.

Highlights from our event included:

  • LxG’s faculty member Cate Latz, led a TED-style talk around the basic principles of measuring impact.
  • LxG’s Executive Director, Amy Kingman, moderated a panel around “Impact” with Jill Shah of the Shah Family Foundation, Greg Shell of Bain Capital Double Impact, and Casey Brock-Wilson of the Boston Mayor’s Office.

 Summary

Join the Learning by Giving Foundation (LxG) and its Emerging Leaders Council for an in-depth conversation on impact in the community; “Is the work making a difference?” This event is the second in a four-part series of events for emerging leaders in New England who are interested in philanthropy and social impact, and want to learn how to make their giving impactful.

At this event, philanthropy experts will present on “Impact” from the RISE Framework for Social Change, an evaluation tool developed by Rebecca Riccio, Director of the the Social Impact Lab at Northeastern University which focuses on the nonprofit hallmarks of Relevance, Impact, Sustainability, and Excellence in Management and Operations. Additionally, you will hear from prominent leaders on how they measure impact in their community.

This event is free but all attendees are strongly encouraged to support LxG and our partner nonprofits with a donation of $35. Drinks and food will be provided. Register below!
